Crank but car wont start

Post by Slimb »

Hello Peps. It's my first time here and I hope my question would be answered fairly. I bought a well used citroen C3 1.4hdi 8v 2003 diesel. It worked perfectly and I drive it for about a week. But then, I heard a clicking/ tapping sound under the hood recently and I decided to check ut up at a local workshop. They discovered a leak from number 4 injector. Apparently the plastic seal got broken. So I decided to replace them with a genuine part from citroen. After all the hideous work and waiting, my car wont start. It cranks but wont start. I called an auto to diagnose and the followings came up P1668, 1113,0408. Everything mentioned was later attended to but the car wont start. What I noticed from the dashboard is a green bulb like sign and battery sign blinks. And my headlight remain on without turning it on. I need help on how to go about the car not starting

HI

Concerning the last part of what you mentioned.... headlights playing up can indicate a faulty comms module under (inside) the steering wheel - this can also be responsible for the transponder code not being sent to the BSI when you try to start it. Very basically, it will crank, but unless the engine ECU authorises starting (once the transponder code data in the key or fob chip gets sent to the BSI and then to the engine ECU and back), the engine won't start.

Thanks for the response. You, I have being going round the car with the hope of getting it to start by some sort of a magic🙈. I mean, it's frustrating. Anyways, I also notice the hooter is dead. It was functioning before the whole injector seal was changed. Do I need to call an auto again or it's a mechanical fault? Pocket is running dry over what seem to be little problem.
