Hello all! I am having alternator issues with my 2011 C3 1.6 HDi.
The question I have for you all is if it would be a problem to replace my current alternator which is a start stop version with a normal generic one?
If it is even possible for me to do so what could/would happen?

Hi, and
to the forum.
I don't know the stop/start system well, but I do know some vehicles use the alternator as both the generator AND the starter. Normal alternators cannot do this, so it may be that a generic one would not work in your vehicle.

If you have an A51 C3 like this:lkprta wrote: 10 Aug 2021, 15:41 Hello all! I am having alternator issues with my 2011 C3 1.6 HDi.

.... that has Stop and Start system then it will have a reversible alternator which is a specific requirement for this vehicle. You can't replace it with a standard alternator. The specific type of reversible alternator is also dependent on the engine fitted, so best check with your dealer.
