Thank you Marc. I didn't mean to be annoying, just didn't know if the post was clear and would be noticed.
This confirms the data for the Sanden model (and is in line with what I had found out before, too). For what I could find out, the Delphi/Harrison V5 (6453 AQ) was also used on this exact model of 406 (and many others) and in fact it's what's installed there right now. The V5 is quite a bit cheaper than the Sanden model (probably it's a little less powerful, as the unit is a bit smaller, but while it had gas it worked well, even with this old, leaking unit), so I'm going for the V5, because although no longer available from Delphi, they are available from lots of aftermarket brands. Thanks for all the support. I'll put a short update here once all will be (hopefully) installed and working successfully.

No worries, thanks for understanding and good luck with the replacement.

As you'd expect this is one of those components that will forever be updated as models are improved and older ones discontinued. At least you have several choices now and the compatible model numbers to help you.

If you need any other parts, just shout :)

On Mister Auto (for example) you should be able to input the original number (6453 TJ), and get an aftermarket match.
When I looked there, all the compressors were actually Sanden, but just badged by different vendors - eg Valeo, Nissens... I went for a Nissens for the BX.

Yes, that's about what I did on several places as I was looking for the OEM number to be able to find the Delphi/Harrison V5 equivalents from aftermarket vendors.

Just a quick update for closure. 9 days after changing the compressor for a new Nissens which is compatible substitute for the Delphi/Harrison V5 and having a A/C specialist garage change the dryer filter, vacuum and charge the system, the A/C is still working great, this time it's fixed!

Hi guys,
I think I have exactly the same problem as the OP. The only number I can get off my compressor is 6560502 but this does not bring up matches for parts. If I have understood correctly, if I make a donation to the forum and submit my VIN someone could look up some more useful numbers for me? I would be delighted to do this, please can someone direct me?
Thanks so much
