2006 C5 Ldws

Unread post by citroenxm »

But if an off chance. And long shot..

Aside my 2004 dead estate.. I've a 2006 c5 exclusive hdi.. With lane departure warning system.

It has a fault. When I put lexia on it the seat vibrators worked on both sides.. And the error was a short circuit. I've check power to it.. Cant seem to see one. I see the. Cameras are all wired together it need to check each one individually does anyone know what resistance they should be if any at all..? Lexia checked the cameras but wanted to test it useing a white. Board but I couldn't manage that.

Don't advise me to ignore it and disable it.. Its fitted and I would like it to work..

Any advise greatly appriciated..

These aren't cameras Paul, they're Infra Red sensors.

You don't need a whiteboard to calibrate them, a sheet of white A4 will do - but I wouldn't bother with this as it is unlikely to do anything to fix the fault which is electrical and probably from the harness to the ECU.

The lenses can be cleaned with normal soapy water, but care must be taken not to scratch the lenses.

I will try and get you a diagram up of the system in a second.

Ah, ok, so the ECU is located behind the BSI mounting.

What message are you getting on the multi-Function Display? If there is a fault, it will display a message here - if you miss it, each time you press the LDWS button the message will repeat, so you can see what it says.

What is the fault code you are getting with Diagbox?

It just says .. Anti wander system faulty.

Lexia reported a short circuit. It I'm gonna connect lexia up again and check it all over till I get another ecu for the other 2004 car..

Also it tells me the fault without the dash button being pressed.. So it reports the fault instantly.

I have no idea if you can do a resistance check on the sensors or not but is unlikely all 6 will be faulty so you could take all of them of & compare them?

I'll just try get under and unplug each one and do a continuity check on them.. But Im sure when I looked with lexia it didn't report any sensor fault. Just a short circuit..

I'll put lexia on tomorrow and remind myself and get some codes..

Be aware that these are numbered in order and if removing them each sensor MUST be put back in the right location or the whole system will need re-programming...

Here are sequence of shots of the lexia report. Interestingly sensor 1 has now developed a fault..

Interestingly the fault last time was a short circuit. But this time its different..

So there's the likely culprit I think. There are no codes I have for the LDWS - so if you are keen on replacing it, you'll need to carry out the programming procedure on all the sensors Paul.

I'll try it next week when the weather is cooler. I don't have that much energy in this hot weather.

But I'd not think unprogramed sensors would cause a communication fault.

No, but the system won’t operate unless all the sensors are operational and programmed for safety reasons.
