Expert 2 litre hdi.No com with body comp U1118 and P1693

Unread post by The Grim Reaper »

Hello my friends.

Peugeot expert 2 litre Hdi 2008.

No start but cranks away happily.

Scanner shows
U1118 no communication with body computer.
P1693 start up request not valid.
Key is recognised.
I have checked all fuses I can find.
Checked most wiring connections and clean.
Had a look inside Bsi all looks nice N clean.

Battery has been off vehicle for quite a few months,is it possible either the ecu or bsi can loose there code or pairing ability.
Like i say KEY is recognised

Stratching head so much my hairs thinning

Any direction would be so much appreciated

Just an update
I have checked all the wiring and plugs.Added additional Earth's.
It looks like it's either the main engine Ecu.BSI or BCM
There is definitely a lack of communication codes P1693 and U1118
Also I cannot hear the main relay.
Does anybody know where it is located is it in the BCM?

Can anybody advise what the most common of these parts that Fails.

Thanks

Hello, i have same problem.

Symtoms:
Engine shut down at acceleration and didnt start.
Next day it started and run well until next day it didnt start.

Fault codes with Launch diagnostic tool:
U1118 Permanent: Multiplexin No BSI Or Air Conditioning Communication

P1693 Permanent: Starting and Switchin off of engine controlled starting or Switchinf off request absent or not vaid

U2001 Permanent Multiplexing. Remotely controlled triggering information not coherent.

What's the problem?

From another forum i found out that fuse box in engine compartment could be faulty.

Hi mate. I've had this problem since March this year. Can't get an auto electrician to look at it that's mobile?. There doesn't seem to be anyone with the answer or where to look really. Still hoping though ๐Ÿ™.

My electrician have replaced BSM module of one my car and repaired my other car BSM module (fuse and relay module under bonnet) this time it seems same module problem this time as well. I take it out and see if there is some corrosion in it otherwise i probably replace it and i let you guys know if i manage to resolve this.
PS! i hate when lots of people have had similar problems but nobody tell what the problem was so i try to reveal my solutions always.

I managed to get it run again if i clear fault codes but it can shut down any time. I took out the BSM but there seems nothing to be wrong, it may be just bad connection with wireplugs but if i still encounter engine shutdown or not starting then i would replace BSM module.

Ok so I've removed the Bsm and no apparent faults visually. Put it back and now no cam crankshaft sync . It was starting to do this intermittently.
Have ordered a replacement to try that . Do I need to do a Bsi reset once I've put replacement in ?.

Should be plug and play, i swapped bsm with my other van that is same engine and both runs, will see if one of them still makes this problem, so far seems ok.

You should really have the battery disconnected anyway when replacing the BSM so this will naturally reset the BSI.

Thanks wheeler. Received the replacement late today so going to fit in the morning. Hoping for a good result and a starting van ?. Everything crossed as it seems impossible to get a mobile auto electrician to sort it out ?. Will report back either way . Thanks again .

Ok so fitted the replacement bsm and no change.
The cam sync now seems a bit unreliable aswell.
Messaged another auto electrician so hopefully he will get back to me ?.
