Well I finally bought an X7 tourer, and have passed on my Mk1 to a good home.
There are so many differences from the Mk1; primarily the engine and drivetrain.
It has a 160 BHP diesel with autobox which is very impressive. The ride is brilliant too.
Malcolm at Savoy has done the timing belt etc (and other issues to sort!)
So I gathered up my stuff from the old car and found that there's absolutely no space anywhere for stashing things- not even around the spare in the boot.
This will certainly make me a tidier person if nothing else.
I certainly hope I won't be working my way through the faults spreadsheet, but I could have bought something sensible, perish the thought.
Watch out for my newbie Q's folks.

The lack of space in the X7 Tourer was one of the things that struck me as being inferior compared to my previous Mk1 Estate. The pathetic rear side pouches made even more pathetic with the totally useless nets compared to the rigid panels I was used to.
I could write a fairly extensive list of the many ways the X7 is worse than the Mk1 but I still enjoy driving it. It's a more dynamic beast and, despite the increase in power, more economical.

Yes
I think the driving experience is much improved.
Certainly the suspension is a revelation; just think of all the electronics utilised to emulate the mechanical DS ride, and to be fair it's the best I've had since the XM.
There's the wonderful Citroen experience of smiling as you drive, coupled with "what will it come up with next?"
