Parking Sensor Issue

Unread post by Adamkaram »

Hi all,

I have Citroen C4 coupe 2007, it has front and rear parking sensor.

this option suddenly stopped, front and rear sensors.

Nothing happen as you park the car, even no car drow appear on the LCD when you park the car.

the parking button keep light up and cant turn it on.

I checked all fuses, all is good.

I tried my car parking module on another car, it worked perfectlly.

I went to a friend who has Lexia diagnosis. no faults detected!!!

I tried to turn it off by Lexia and then turn it back on, nothing happened

🤔🤔🤔

Any Idea???

Best Regards

Either something has been changed in the BSI configuration..... or there is a problem with one or more sensors.

Having said that, if the system when fully connected to your vehicle has been diagnosed with Lexia, then any faults with the sensors would show up.
When there is a fault with one or more sensors the whole systems is deactivated for safety reasons.

So have you changed anything in your BSI, or changed a radio / head unit?

Are your reverse lights working? A failed reverse light switch will stop the park sensors working.

Ok, so I would start checking the Parking assistance ECU in the boot. Make sure you haven't had any liquid leaking out of a container that has gone through the boot floor and into the ECU. Check the connectors are all ok and secured.

Hello.

Make a simple test of each parking sensor to see if they actually work. Contact sensors active surface with a screwdriver and place your ear on a handle. You should hear a buzzing sound if sensor is working.

Regards.

None of parking sensors work, cause there is no command from ECU

Well I would go back and check the fuses again - specifically fuse F12 in the cabin fusebox, as this is for the parking assistance. Don't just look at it - actually test it or replace it for another 15A fuse to be sure, as these can look intact but often won't show signs of a break.

It sounds like a power issue - as if you have no power to the parking assistance ECU then it it not going to work.

If you are sure the system has not been disabled in the BSI then it has to be electrical related if there is no power to the ECU.

I replaced the F12 fuse but to no vail...

I noticed that if I remove the F12 fuse and try to reverse, a messege appear that parking sensor fault.

but when I install tge F12 fuse, nothing happen as I reverse...

Is it possible that one of sensor is bad?

As I mentioned in my previous post - if a sensor is faulty the whole system deactivates - but you would get a warning. A poor sensor can become intermittent - when this happens, you can sometimes engage the parking assistance, but it may deactivate with a fault when being used. The system self-checks whenever it is engaged (front or rear assistance).

So as already suggested, time to get it diagnosed, preferably with Lexia / Diagbox to confirm the problem. If there is a faulty sensor, it will tell you which one (s) are not working - but again, you should be getting a faulty message if this was the case.

I diagnosed it by Lexia, No codes..

even, I got into a configure list in Lexia to check it out, the option parking sensor is ON, I chenged to OFF and saved the new configure then turn it back to ON...the same :(
