2021-1 maps from BMW?

So I am a new owner of a 2010 Peugeot 308 with RNEG head unit. After I found out that the firmware can be updated I am going to flash the 50.03 version as soon as possible. In the meantime I am doing some research on how to update the maps. As far as I understood, the latest official release was 2018-2, but there a numerous unofficial map updates.

Of course, I am trying to find the most recent one. So this one caught my eye . supposedly 2021-1: https://www.drive2.com/l/577570160609592167/
I know, it is in Russian, but google translate does wonders here I haven't found this map version anywhere else yet so this got me wondering if it is ok to upload it. Has anyone tried this out? Can I brick something by changing maps or can I always revert back to my current 2018-2 version in case something with the 2021-1 version goes wrong?

It is true that Citroen are no longer commissioning maps for the Harman Becker units.

Others have used the BMW versions of the maps with some modifications with some success, but there are issues with some languages that use accented characters causing problems. Also, the Places of Interest (POIs) are not compatible, so you will always have the last available 2016-2 version.

Thank you! So, long story short, I'd have to try and find out for myself... And, if I don't like it, could I just insert my old 2018-2 SD card and revert to the older version?

Ad the MyWay system uses the maps on the SD card itself directly, it should work for any valid version of map you have on the card.

I bought 2021 sd card from ebay. Dont know which maps the seller used. But all is working correctly. Map is richer, POIs are working, and are a lot more than before. Even speedcams are announced correctly.

As far as I understand the POIs will be your original ones from the Citroen as the BMW ones are not compatible.

It's a scam Colin - I'd cancel them if I were you. These are not official versions (there are no longer any newer maps for this system since 2016) and people are selling these ones used by BMW for money. We don't condone the practice here, but they can be sought elsewhere for £0.

I should add that the only reason I mentioned that last bit as a) It's extremely bad that PSA have left owners in the lurch with ineffective and outdated maps for these systems and b) I hate to see people get ripped off by crims.
