Gti turbo MK1 - my new car!

Unread post by Edlandy »

Hi and hello!
just bought the above car, wanted a cx of any flavour for years, so at last i have one.
I can't seem to add pictures, but I've put them on retro rides forum. The car has had a interesting history and I'm sure some of you may know of it, after been in a barn for 20 odd years! It's got (still ) loads of electrical issues and needs a respray.
I'm sure I will have loads of questions, not to mention a few parts needed! but I'm still making a to do list!
So far I need a headlight retaining clip, air filter housing, boot carpet and the heater flap motor- or a supply of the bushes. And a degree in auto electronics will be useful!

CX acquisition becoming popular these days. Great stuff!

To post a photo...

- hit Full Editor & Preview
- hit Attachments
- hit Add Files
- select your JPG etc file from your system, and Open it
The file then appears in a box list
You can add a caption in the empty box, if you like
Do the same for any other photos needed
They all appear in the list, newest at the top
- Position the cursor in the post where you want the pic to appear, and hit Place in Line
Continue for the other photos.

At any time you can hit Preview, to see what it looks like.
When done, hit Submit.

Looking forward to seeing the new baby.

She looks nice. If you want a source of ideas you might want to search (on this forum) for "CGAT", but be warned; she is quite a beast!

Thank you, but it's a 10foot car. Needs painting all over as well as loads of electrical fixes

We're doing our best to slowly build up some CX resources on the forum, especially as several members have recently acquired one, or have a restoration on-going.

There is the CX section for routine posts (which you've already found):
viewforum.php?f=23

and the Mechanic's Booklets collection (go to Board Index > Members' Area > Resources*)
includes Parts pages and Repair data for some of the CX S1 and S2 range:
viewtopic.php?p=590278#p590278
* note: Access to the Resources section of the forum is available for members who have made a forum donation.

We're always keen to add to this document collection.
