C5 MK II 2008 1.8L Petrol BSI cut wires!

Post by Dave-C5 »

Hi All
My 2008 C5 Estate 1.8L SX has a suspected BSI fault - sometimes the engine won't switch off and also won't start.
A BSI reset has been performed. However it didn't resolve the faults.
To my surprise I noticed some wires had been cut. I suspect these are meant to be connected to the BSI looking at vacant sockets on the BSI. I think these wires have possibly been cut to cover a problem.
Could anyone help identify what component hese wires are connected to. They wires codes are:
Red wire: A27 10580 2948 *R/35
Yellow wire: 3CF *3018 MAIN FFF25 Note: 3CF might be 30F was hard to tell
Blue wire: MG05 2406 97 08 RS4

Any info greatly appreciated

Many thanks

Dave

Yep, sounds like the repair wires to me, there are normally 4 all perfect cut at the same length. The other end of them will be underneath the under bonnet fusebox.

Thanks guys for your fast replies.
Certainly makes sense these "cut" wires are factory fit.
Logically, the next step is to have the BSI tested.
Cheers,
