IFHS Spheres or Citroen for Citroen X2 2.0HDi

Post by Rhothgar »

It seems IFHS and AEP Direct are the preferred supplier for replacements.

By immediate need is for the accumulator sphere for the HDi, VIN now added to signature.

Could I have prices and part numbers for this in particular and the other spheres please when one of the Admin Team has a spare moment?

AEP have the accumulator on Ebay for £42 delivered. I'd doubt Citroen are going to be anywhere near that but it's worth me asking. If service.citroen shows the usual daft pricing then I'll order the sphere from AEP today at some point. Am I right is saying a local Citroen dealer is rarely going to offer any discount on the service.citroen prices, if ever?

When you contact AEP Direct it helps if you supply the vehicle reg with your order. They will then use it to check you have ordered the right parts for your vehicle. I have used them twice in the past, and the first time they asked for the reg to confirm the parts were correct. The second time I used them (for a different Xantia) I had the reg on the order, to allow them to check.

Yes. I read that on another post on the forum. Not sure if it was by you.

I would also recommend AEP.
I have used them for the Xantia i currently have and have no complaints.
As James says put your reg number in and they will check before dispatch but i think they supply IFHS spec anyway.

I've checked against the IFHS Catalogue but will also included reg.

Are IFHS actually original spheres do you know, Colin? I don't believe they are.

I am dreaming to think I could actually get a Citroen accumulator sphere for the Xantia at around £42?

I've also been wondering if anyone in the UK has a Technosir for regassing as they will not currently ship to UK. If I could borrow one of someone I'll get one made by any engineer friend. They don't look complex at all.

Only issue then is the Valprex valves but I could just simply get those sent to family in Austria and then sent over to me. I could do that with the actual Technosir but it looks so simple to make if only I could find out what the drillings are in the central block.

That's really bad news about Tecnosir not wanting to ship to UK. Blasted Br*x*t presumably.
They are nice folk there, and were really helpful when I placed an order (delivery to Spain) last October.
Try sending an email to Monica Bazan (monica@tecnosir.com) - no problem doing it in English.

The tool needs to be able to withstand the 200bar of a nitrogen cylinder.
It is intended to run straight off the cylinder, without an intervening regulator.
Max. sphere pressure likely to be encountered is 70/75 bar.
There is also a fine filter and micro-metering restrictor in the handle, to reduce gas flow to a slow rate that is controllable.
The control knob (for gas flow) opens up very very gradually.
The male thread that screws into the Valprex valves has a nylon/hard PTFE domeed tip, to obtain a seal.
_________

Try gently showing Citroen an IHFS/AEP price, and see what discount they could offer. You never know.

Citroen are reporting NFP for Xantia HDi Accumulator Sphere.

I find that hard to believe.

It's nonsense.
Parts show no fewer than 4 part numbers for the 400/62/-- Accumulator sphere (2 for each of the saucer and classic shape, depending on 'age') and none of them is shown NFP.
Get them to look again!

I ended up ordering from AEP straight after. I thought it was odd. As I didn't have time to actually go down because of VAT reporting responsibilities I phoned them. He was talking about an L shaped bracket. I've no idea where he was looking. He's been there many, many years so he generally knows what you're talking about. Must have been having a bad day. Took him an age to answer the phone for Parts Department. I hung up first time then called back later.

Spoke with my brother last night who rang me to tell me that there was a Citroen BX on Ebay for £600 locally. It was only a TZD Turbo too. One previous owner from new but a deposit has been taken. Very tatty but worth £600 of anyone's money I guess. Ahhh. To have proper 'proper' suspension again... Always longed for a decent XM 2.5TD also.

2.5 ? Register and put a wanted on club-xm.co.uk.
2.5's are being acquired these days.
A huge amount of expertise and documentation available for that particular engine/model.

If LHD is of any interest, look at the Leboncoin/voitures site in France.
This one looked interesting, at €2500: https://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/19220 ... 4051296304
Plenty of BXs there too, anything between €1 and €4000.
