Engine identity
I have seen a C5 for sale which is advertised as a 2.0 petrol. I need to know if it is the HPi engine. Can that be determined from the reg number?

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Engine identity
I'd need the VIN Mick to be sure but the HPi was only available between 2001 to 2003 and the engine was the EW10 D (RLZ), not to be confused with the EW10 'J' or 'A' series with engine codes RFN, RFR, RFK or RFJ which were not the HPi variants. Of course, you would be right to avoid any HPIs as the fuel pumps are near on impossible to source when they go toes up, and they will.

Re: Engine identity
Thanks Marc, I had an unexpected answer from the seller to say it is not the HPi so now I can bemoan my decision to go for the Subaru 1 week too early!! Terrible feeling that may change. This one is an exclusive but without the nav so that should also avoid the screen grief!! Watch this space
