2008 Steering problem

Unread post by 2008 Owner »

Hi, can anybody help please?! I have a Peugeot 2008 diesel on a 16 plate and have a problem with the steering. It pulls to the right until about 30 miles per hour, this is upon acceleration and when slowing down. Above 30 mph it drives straight. I have had the tyre pressure and tracking checked, it has been up on a ramp and the suspension and steering checked for anything loose or broken. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Several reasons - but sounds like torque steer - most likely a one of the suspension components, so could be related to a tie rod with too much slack, or a loose ball joint the lower control arm bushing. It's unlikely to be wheel alignment if it's only happening on acceleration.

Time to get it checked again by a garage that knows how to check these things properly.

This problem is specific to the 2008 and C4 Cactus models.

Pulls to one direction under 30mph but straight as an arrow under 30mph?

Mismatched load rating / speed rating of tyre(s) across axles.
