Having searched the forum there is the odd reference to the window glass being removed from the outside on an X2.
I only have an X1 manual and clearly that doesn’t work.
Also, when trying to lower the door glass to the 2/3rds position it fouls the central door locking module.
Is it just a case of somehow stripping all the outside seals off to remove the glass?
I don’t wish to break any more glass on the car...
Not today!

Well. I’ve managed to get it out. Just not sure how it’s going back in.
This dropped out from somewhere!

And I don’t think this cable is recoverable...
Kenny W. Do you have one that looks like this?

Plus the green clip looks broken so I have no reference as to where the cable should sit in the clip.
Time to abort this job I think and get on with something productive on the car.

Re: Xantia X2 front door glass removal
Sorry Roger been elsewhere today, seen your posts.
I did have both mk 1 and mk2 window regulators but went with car to friend that was 5 years ago.
But I kept the window clips for some reason.
IIRC the wire was not unwound when I replaced same. to remove the glass I lower the glass and till I could access clip and slowly lifted it out of door frame.

It's alright Kenny. I was getting you confused with admiral51. So you have the clip. I must remember.KennyW wrote: 07 Mar 2021, 16:57 Sorry Roger been elsewhere today, seen your posts.

Re: Xantia X2 front door glass removal
Does anyone have an advice from replacing front driver's window regulator on an Series 2 Xantia.
I seem to recall I have taken the regulator out at some point in a vain attempt to repair the wire but stupidly didn't know bookmarking existed and therefore if I did find a topic (one of my comments above suggests I found nothing 2 years ago) I failed to bookmark it.
I search my previous posts history and see if I can come up trumps but if anyone has any knowledge they can impart in the meantime it would be appreciated. I will post back here either way once I've completed searching in the next half hour or so, so as not to put anyone out unnecessarily.
I seem to recall I probably had to remove the door lock and the poseur strip has signs that I removed that as it is slightly misshapen at the end. I have a very vague recollection of removing rubbers too?

Roger from memory i have a feeling that if you remove the window runners/channels the window glass is removed by lowering it by hand into the bottom of the door and pull the top towards you and out but it was a very long time ago i had to remove it so i could be thinking of another Citroen possibly the C5 X7.

Rodger:
Note, the outer rubber strip is held in place with a rivet behind the plastic pillar trim. Do not pull it or you will wreck it !
