Beware Rip Off Company !!!

Unread post by Tebster »

Hi everyone,
Have just had very bad dealings with a company in Manchester called ****** ***** UK, I wish to warn everyone to keep well clear of them.
The full story:
I used a company on the internet called Part Finder UK to help me find a gearbox for my Xantia TD,the next day I received an email from ****** ***** UK saying that they had the parts I required, also enclosed in this email was a contact name and telephone number.
That day I telephoned this company and spoke to a guy called Mike, he promised to supply the gearbox for £205.63 which included next day delivery, unfortunately though because I had missed their deadline of 4pm that day, they promised to send it out on the thursday and would definately receive it on the friday, I agreed to this and gave them my debit card details.
Well on the friday 4pm came and still no gearbox, so I telphoned them and asked them to chase it up with the courier company they used, they said they would and promised to call me back, you guessed it no return of my call, after 5pm came and went I was getting a tad worried so I called them again and asked them for the couriers telephone number and the tracking number, they then said that they could not remember who they sent it by and this was too much f..... hassle for a friday at 5.25pm and that if I wanted a refund they would refund me in full.
Well after they had spoken to me in such an appalling manor I opted for the refund which they promised to credit to my account straight away, after nearly two weeks and endless calls to this company I have still yet to get my refund, have now wriiten to them by recorded mail giving them 7 working days to refund me the amount they owe me.
Trading standards have promised to pursue this on my behalf after the 7 days, If anyone else has had bad dealings with this company or is going through the same could you please email me as trading standards would love to hear from you.
Regards
Paul [:(!]
P.s I forgot to mention that Part finder uk had nothing to do with this transaction other than referring ****** ***** UK to me.

You should be able to get the money back on your debit card form the bank they will then do the chasing not you. This means they will owe the bank and not yourself. Had a simalar situation a couple of years ago, purchased on line and no goods turned up. Spoke to my then bank (Barclays) who credited my account then and there and then chased the debt. But thanks for the info. I'm registard on the car parts finder webb page but have never bought any thing through them, I will now delate my details. Thanks

Forget writing letters, there's only one way to deal with these kind of "people" and thats to use:

Have also had problems with this company.
Ordered an engine for a Peugeot 406 which has never arrived. Mike alledges the first one he sent has been stolen by the carrier; the second and third ones they tried both blew up on the test bed; a fourth one was also sent but has never arrived; and only after a month of threatening to report him to Barclaycard and have his credit card facillity revoked did I get my refund.
As already stated on this thread - do business with this company at your peril.

Sorry guys, I have edited the original posting due to possible legal implications.
