Evening all,
Been on the forums for some years now but I’ve recently bought a clean, low mileage 2006 C5 2.0HDi VTR estate.
The headunit has a phone button, and in the manual there’s reference to connecting a mobile via Bluetooth but I’m unable to connect.
There doesn’t appear to be any setting relating to this and I wondered whether all facelifts with the phone button had Bluetooth, or whether it’s the French just winding me up? Again.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
PS, I did search the forum before posting so apologies if it’s been discussed elsewhere and I’ve missed it!
Cheers
Craig

Re: 2006 C5 VTR - Bluetooth?
There was never a Bluetooth option for this year / model. Depending on the Head Unit, if you have a telematics system, like the RT3 / RT4, then it will have a SIM card slot in the Head Unit that takes a standard SIM card. Bluetooth on the C5 didn't come in until the MK III (X7) and then only as part of an optional hands free kit in 2008 until the RD45 in about 2009 and then the later telematics units that incorporated bluetooth.
Have a look at the telematics sub-forums and see if you can identify your system from the pictures:

Thanks for your reply.
I thought that might have been the case but I was curious as to why there is a TEL button on the HU and various references to Bluetooth in the owners handbook.

Re: 2006 C5 VTR - Bluetooth?
Looks like this was an early implementation of the optional handsfree kit module that was installed behind the dash. Quite rare on these C5 MK IIs. But if you pop your VIN up (auto masked on submission), I can see exactly what system you have and advise you better.
