My 2007 C5 II Estate 1.6hdi has travelled 200K km without faults of any kind - until last week.
When trying to start, it was completely dead.
Upon checking, the 25A starter motor fuse was blown.
Fitted new fuse, car started.
Next time it was totally dead again. Yet another 25A fuse helped.
All this happend in a humid climate, -17deg Celcius.
Moving the car to a 'warmer' climate (-4 degrees) makes the car start easy every time....
Before I start fitting a new starter motor - is there any other reason for this problem apart form a worn starter motor?

Re: C5 1.6hdi blows starter fuse when trying to start
Welcome
This is a common problem - and needs a new starter (or the current one overhauled). Note that fitting the starter on this engine is not easy, but a C5 shouldn't be too bad as there is more room around the engine.
You could temporarily up to a 30A fuse, but I think the original was 20A, so someone has been there already!
