'Aux In' Xantia Phase 1

So as an 'old bloke' I have looked with interest at the 'aux in' socket on the factory fit radio cassette in my Xantia phase one (SX) and have to admit I haven't got a clue what it might be compatible with ?

I am told you can purchase a 'portable bluetooth wireless transmitter' thingy from somewhere like Amazon and stream music but is this true ?

As a similar 'old bloke' i feel your pain.
However from having had the MK1 Xantia you can use the aux in to use the head unit as a factory fit speaker system.
If you are old as me then you may remember the portable CD player that used an aux out so you could hear what it was playing, ie head phones, the aux in does the same but uses the car speakers.
MP3 players i have used in a MK1 Xantia via the aux in socket and had good sound etc.
Somewhere there is info on something about using the cassette player to play music but not off the cassette itself but not sure where that info is.

The Socket takes a signal at line level or headphone level. You could connect it to a bluetooth adapter, although the cheap adapters I have tried were too fiddly and unreliable to persevere with, it may be easier just to run a cable from your phone headphone jack (if it has one).
