Swapping engine on a 1.6 16v 110hp Hdi 307 SW for a newer one

Post by backtothelifestream »

Hi everyone, greetings from Argentina, I own a 2007 307 SW Hdi with the 1.6 16v DV6TED4 engine, no FAP, 110hp. My turbo has gone and the piston rings fail on the rightmost cylinder, turbo side. I'm considering rebuilding the engine, new piston rings, piston, head gasket etc. etc. On this side of the ocean this is pretty expensive and I'm considering swapping the engine for the only other variant that got sold here which is the DV6C 115hp 8 valve. These are way more common since they equipped 308, 408 (308 sedan for this region if you never heard of it), C4 Picassos, C4 II etc. Is this conversion possible? Engines sold in Argentina are without DPF only FAP, so no DPF to worry about. From what I gather and inspecting on Servicebox, if the new engine came complete with wiring harness and everything it should be a pretty straightforward swap? You have to recode everything afterwards, correct?

Thanks for taking the time!!!

DPF & FAP are the same thing FAP is just the French abbreviation for DPF.
