Peugeot Partner 2004, 2.0 hdi.
I have a suspension noise that is driving me nuts… It sounds like part of a broken spring scraping against the other part. Only happens when turning the wheels, especially when turning slowly. The sound comes from the top of the passenger side strut.
I have replaced the spring, the shock absorber and the top anti-friction bearing (old one had disintegrated with rust). There are only two things left – the rubberised top mount and the coil top seat. The rubberised top mount ‘looked ok’… but now with limited options – maybe it has an integral metal part which is perished?
If anyone has had a similar experience / noise / situation – please put me out of my misery and tell me what the problem actually was… I have removed the strut 3 times … but on the upside; I am getting pretty good at it now!
Cheers & Happy New Year..

Eventually figured out the noise was from a worn out cv joint; it was travelling up the strut to appear as though it came from the top of the strut. Got a new driveshaft complete with cv joints for £35 delivered and it went in easy. Job done.
