Citroen part number should be
96103782 listed as 'control cable'
Best of luck!

Hi,
Ordered the cable from dash to front of car from citroen only £6.00 and they did not have it in stock. I have been looking at the Haynes manual and it says that i have to remove the dash and the heater to replace the cable god help me if i had to get it done at the dealers!

Hi meexi,
I hope you can write a short description of how you did the job, just basics, so that it can be put in the list of handy hints here on the forum. Thus avoiding other soles doing the wrongs that Haynes proposes . .

hi,
here goes!
first thing take off all the covers round the steering column you should not have to take off the steering wheel next cut the red bonnet lever if it is not already broken.if you look behind the steering column to the left you will see where the cable goes through the bulkhead spray some wd-40 aeound this and leave to work its magic.
with your new cable slide off the grommet and the cable protection sleeve do not throw them away.
working under the bonnet slide the cable out off its holder and push it through to the inside off the car.
now the clever bit.
one end off the cable should be at the left and the other end sticking out beside the fusebox connect the new cable to this part i used an electrical connecter (chocolate box) then gently pull this over the steering column.
once you have got it all through then you can fit the grommet back on then guide the cable through the hole in the bulkhead then put the cable sleeve back on and feed the cable to the front of your xantia put all the covers on and `roberts your mothers brother`[:D] job done.
