Peugeot starting problem

Post by Foxies »

Hi all .any help would be great.i have a Peugeot 206 2.0 hdi that I bought for work of a young lad that he had put petrol in by mistake. I have done all the necessary cleaning and it runs now but is murder to start I have to wind it up for some time to get it going. Once going it's fine. Here is the list of jobs I have done, sorry to bore you. Changed filter.changed the crank sensor.changed the battery. had the starter checked it cranking fine. Done a done a diesel drop off test and all containers filled pretty much the same. Replaced the glow plugs. Think that's it. Once started it runs ok but stop it even after a good run and it will not start again without cranking it for ages. No that I like using it but with a little easy start it starts straight away. Any help please would be great. Cheers.

Can you get it on diagnostics & read the live fuel pressure when cranking?

I wonder if the fuel pumps have taken damage? Diesel helps to lubricate them, but petrol does not. This does not mean you can lubricate the pumps yourself.

Hi done a live data crank test and it very low. Is this the injector pump or could it be a sensor. Cheers.
