egr solenoid valve

Hi, Failed MOT Test 2005 Citroen Xsara 2ltr - Could someone advise me where to look for the egr solenoid valve ? can it be cleaned or, does it have to be replaced ?

You'll need to post up your VIN so we know exactly what engine you have. Some are at the back righ and some are at the back left of the engine depending on the variant you have.

They can be cleaned or replaced.

You can safely type the VIN in this thread. The forum security software will automatically obscure it so that only forum staff can read it.

i found this on a label in the lower left window screen - Could this be the VIN?

That is the VIN. I cannot read it, as I am not staff.

It's at the rear right side of the engine.

I would get the vacuum electrovalves checked though to make sure they are operating correctly and are supplying the vacuum to the EGR itself.
