The Watercress Line

Unread post by Hell Razor5543 »

The Watercress Line have decided to try and brighten things up this Christmas in a rather lovely way;

I think it is more magical than The Hogwarts Express.

I watched a bit about that on the local news this evening. It looked astonishing from the aerial shots.

Fantastic, thanks for sharing. We lived in Portchester for a couple of years in the early '90s, and took the kids on the Watercress Line a couple of times.

I can remember the culture shock of arriving at Alton station, where the 1940s (?) train terminated at a platform completely true to the era of the train, and the modern service to London terminated on the adjoining platform. Crossing the pedestrian bridge seemed like time travel even then, with only a 50 year difference between one side and the other!
