Help required on Suspension pipe!

Unread post by Mark Graham »

Hi all,

I have a pretty major leak from one on the flexi pipes for the front anti roll bar rams on my Activa TCT

Can anyone tell me if these are available anywhere or shall I have to get one specially made?

(Also need an alternator if anyone has one spare!)

Mark, I may have a pipe in my stash... I will look tomorrow...

No alternator I'm afraid... Sorry...

You have to be very careful as to how you 'dress' the ram pipes else they can chafe on nearby metalwork and eventually rub through and leak...

I know as I've had it happen...

Is this what's happened?

A note on my old website at http://www.eastment.net/ramrep/index.htm will give advice on dressing the pipes...

I'll advise as soon as I've got into my spares stash... Not easy as I have to pop Daffodil out of the workshop first to get to the mezzanine...

If you don't hear from me in a reasonable time, remind me ;)

No worries at all, pleased to help if I can :)

Mark, I'll need to know, in due course if it's the long or short one you need, or both!

Not been keeping up with this thread but the question about the alternator.........

No i do not have one but i think we have all got so used to looking online we may have forgotten about our local (ish) non multi nationals that can and will repair such things, it just takes a little bit of digging and research.:)

Good thinking Colin :) Likely to be only worn brushes and potentially needing a new rectifier/regulator pack...

I'm of the opinion a rebuild will be better than trying to find a new one from the usual sources... And cheaper too!

Great minds think alike! I found a company that refurbishes them on an exchange basis so that’s what I plan to do.
