Under door sill replacement/repair

Hi ive just bought a Citroen xzara picasso
Its a lovely car ive i payer 700 for it however i have noticed today. That the door inder sill has a hole.in it didnt spot wen i bought it.
Does anyone know the cost of replacement or repair please as i cant afford to buy another

That's a common problem on these - in fact that looks to me like it has already been repaired. If you only want it patched it will probably be around £100 / side. if you want a neat job with a new sill, much more...

My sister bought a set from the bay (links below) quite cheaply and the local garage fitted, primed and painted them in matching paint. Didn't take long at all, although the priming painting might be something you'd want to do yourself to save a few quid.

Under door sill replacement/repair welding ECU protection

Hi,

Related, is it true that if someone is going to electric weld car body part then it's essential that:
1. Disconnect the battery and then
2. Put a 'shunt' (I think it's called - surge / spike protector) from positive to to earth (negative) to protect the ECU from being fried by shocks.

Idle thought. If so, I wonder how many intermittent ECU problems in this Forum might've been caused by it having been damaged a bit by welding?
