My pic - i own the copyright
I am a lucky sod... my recently bought Activa on way to garage for recommissioning after 8 years in storage. I will get better pics when i get a chance
On first "prod" by my mechanic it seems to be in remarkably good condition. It will be getting a full service, all fluid change, all belts changed, discs and pads all round, new alternator, two small leaks in the suspension system fixed (luckily easy fixes) and 4 new tyres. Which brings me to my question -
I really like Uniroyal Rainsport 5's but they are not available in 205 60 15. What is the recommended tyre for the Activa these days?

Might I suggest that, while the rear brake callipers are removed (for pads/disks replacement) you get the mechanic to put some gasket paper between the callipers and training arms. That should, with any luck, reduce the onset of the weird corrosion that builds up between the calliper and trailing arm.

You could try this thread from 2018 Mark. viewtopic.php?t=61027
Or this one from 2016 viewtopic.php?p=478101#p478101
There has been quite a lot of recent discussion on tyres in General, so maybe some more recent contributions will come along in due course. Can't add any first-hand advice myself , but from what I've read personal preference both for the ride and grip qualities, and make (and budget!) comes into it.
Regards Neil

Well done on joining the ranks of Activa owners Mark
They are truly great cars and you will fall deeply in love with it
Lots of knowledge on here, on any aspect of them... I've had three!

Thanks for the advice guys, I passed on the tip about corrosion to the mechanic and after some research ive ordered a set of Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance 2 to go on the car.
