407 heated seat seat element....

Unread post by AlvinCitroenC5 »

Hi,

My 407SW's heated seats no longer works (switch and control unit is good), and it checks out to be the heated seat pad that is broken. I am unable to obtain the factory 407 seat part where I am and I believe the factory part is expensive. However, I am able to obtain pads from the 307, C5 III, 508. I am wondering if the heated seat element is compatible so that I can cut out the pad within the seat foam, or if anyone have any other solution, please share. Thanks.

The heated pad elements are not available separately on these and those others are completely different seats / components.

So, I suppose that the heating element is glued to the seat foam and it is one part number. Does anyone have experience with repairing the original heated seat element?

I know on the Citroen C5 X7 the seat pads are bonded to the leather and when a member in Australia had the seal pad heating units fail on a relatively new vehicle it was a nightmare for the dealer and the seats were replaced at about $10,000!

So you might want to consider some thermal undies Alvin! :-D
