You won't get a SERVICE dash warning light for any Head Unit issues. SERVICE will be for an engine or other fault (which may have an impact on the Head Unit).
You'll need to get the vehicle hooked up to a diagnostic tool using a Lexia kit with Diagbox to get a proper idea of any fault codes first of all.

The only 2 ways to reset the unit if you cannot get into the menus to do a factory reset are:
- A long press on the on/ off button, or;
- Simultaneously holding the volume and eject buttons
