C5 X7 Tourer 1.6hdi Problem!

Unread post by Tiagovp »

Hello everyone.
Two weekends ago my C5 1.6 at 120kmh started to sob. I gave a little more accelerator and the sobbing was bigger and the message "defective antipollution system" appeared and the engine was stopped in progress. I pulled over and tried to put it to work again but without success. It was for the mechanic the diagnosis was burnt candles (2). FAP is at 35% dirt.
A regeneration was done and the 4 candles were replaced.
Has anyone ever suffered from the same symptom?
best regards

For anyone wondering, candles are glowplugs. The word is the same in Portuguese (and in other languages such as French).

The problem is not in the glow plugs, the dpf filter is probably clogged but the engine should run in safe mode.

The glow plugs (candles...I like that!) Will not cause running troubles or depollution fault - something else is at play. Need to have another go at the fault codes.

Interesting fact.

In French (and probably Portuguese) spark plugs are also called the same thing.
