Hello All
Can anyone tell me if the 2006 Citroën C5 1.6HDI VTX+ has a separate steering wheel angle sensor or is it built into the COMMS2000 unit. I am also in need of a wiring diagram for it.
My car is showing a fault code P05E0. I suspect this may be a wiring fault. Can anyone help please.

The Steering Wheel Angle Sensor is incorporated into the Steering Wheel Switch Module. There's no specific wiring diagram for it.
Looking at that screen it would seem you battery is an issue - 9.3 V is far too low and can cause problems with electrical systems.
I would look at that first. I'm not getting a code for the P05E0 on a MK II C5, only for the C5 X7 and C6. And where this fault is present on those vehicles - it is indicative of suspension hunting, requiring examination of the front and rear rigidity regulators to see if there are leaks over and above a drip, which would necessitate replacement.
But on the C5 MK II it is a slightly different system.

Hi Marc Thank You for the reply. The car has just had a new battery but had been standing for about a week, This problem has always been on the car but now decided to sort it. The car has also just had an MOT and passed with no problems or advisories.
Having now run the car for a while the battery voltage came backup to just over 12volts and the faults code changed to P05D0 but the sensor power supply was still missing. This sensor I believe is used for the variable speed power steering.

The Steering wheel angle sensor is used for the ESP system to determine the angle and rate of turn on the steering wheel. The ESP system uses this data in determining intended trajectory and incorporates this into the stability programme.
It is also used for the directional headlamps (where fitted as an option).
And of course is used to alter the flow of LDS fluid by the electropump assembly based on the speed or rotation of the steering wheel.
So a few uses.
The battery should be showing around 14.3 - 14.7v when the engine is idling, so that still seems too low if the vehicle is running.
I really would focus checking the condition of the battery terminals, clamps / connectors, earthing points and condition of the battery cables and of the cables from the alternator too to begin with.
Of course, use the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure to make sure the ECUs are properly shut down and restarted when disconnecting and connecting the battery.
