My first estate, the red one blew me away with its soft smooth and quiet suspension, the other one, which is virtually an Exclusive, all the bells and whistles including a glass roof - what purpose that serves I have yet to find out, although not badged as one, doesn't ride as smoothly or quietly.
I thought it must be down to the tyres so I swapped them with the red one but it made very little difference. It not unpleasant to drive, in fact if I had that one first I would still have said it was very good, it just not quite as good, noiser and more harsh suspension, they are both steel sprung.
Was there ever a different spring set up or were they all the same? No rattles or noises from the suspension, just feels firmer.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Peter

Re: X7 suspension query
Yes, Peter, the springs are different according to model and trim / options / and coded white yellow, green, orange or red, have different part numbers depending on build date and options.
The shock absorbers are similar - many different options depending on engine, build date, terrain (intended market) etc.
In your case the rear springs and shocks are identical for both your vehicles, as are the front shock absorbers, however, the front springs are different. You have green on one and orange on the other.
Medium High Trim = Orange (VIN ending 006)
Medium Low Trim = Green (VIN ending 133)

Re: X7 suspension query
Thanks for that Marc I had no idea. Just checked, the red one is 133, silver 006. I'm not about to change the suspension but at least it's not my as imagination some have suggested. So the cheaper one had softer springs, would have liked it the other way round.
