now.. I must say, this cable is potentially suspicious.. (I like a bargain lol..) but I actually think it's ok
the previous owner didn't use it as the software didn't work.. it came to me with corrupt or incomplete software and no instructions.
the cable itself looks good enough, seems to work for diagnosis..
I have managed to get the vin from my car ok.
I have even cleared an old temporary fault (engine thermo)
and checked faults on all ECU's but the abs.
very happy with the diagnostic section..
however, it's coming up with some errors..
can't communicate with measure card..
(I'm not sure if I have one it says yes on one list and no on another)
and says it cannot communicate with a card in the cable.
and the cable configurations don't match.
when I close the DB program there's an actia pop up which says "internal communication error."
Q* so, first would anyone know how to identify my cable?

the abs had gone so I replaced the module..
now I can see every other ECU in diagnosis but cannot communicate with ABS..
Q* Is this because it needs programming?

absolute beginner getting quite grumpy by now.. I'm three months in already.. I bought a lovely clitroen C5 to replace my C3 and it's decided it won't start too
