This button is listed in my handbook as a lane departure or anti intrusion button. I've never bothered with it it's always had the red light showing and pressing it does nothing.
The icon on it is not the lane departure icon so.......any suggestions? Why is the light on?

Re: Mystery button
I believe it is the on/off for the intrusion part of the alarm.
With it switched off you can leave the windows open and set the alarm and in theory the alarm will not be set off

Re: Mystery button
That's for the temporary deactivation of the ultrasonic interior movement detection.
Hold it down for a few seconds and it will light up solid, then lock the car as normal. This was useful if you had a pet or anyone in the car for a short while and wanted to lock it, or wanted to leave the windows partially open. It still provides exterior intrusion protection, but disables the displacement or variation in volume of air detection inside the vehicle. The car has to be locked within 5 minutes of pressing the button.
The system automatically reverts back to normal after the car has been unlocked.

The light is on all the time no matter how much I press the button or lock/unlock the car. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Mystery button
If the LED is solidly lit whenever the ignition is on then there is a fault with the siren control network

Re: Mystery button
Yes Marc that's what I thought but can't really be bothered to sort it.
The alarm has gone off just once since I got the car and I couldn't explain why at the time.
The car also has stickers on the windows saying 'Tracker fitted' but I've not looked into that set up.

Re: Mystery button
That'll be aftermarket fitted by a previous owner then, or a fake sticker
Trackers were never fitted by Citroen on this model IIRC. Or it could be a Carlos Fandango insurance black box whatdyoucallitt thingymabob.
