Air dosser vacuum capsule rod

Unread post by xf1ref »

Hi everyone,

Today I've got a beautiful limp mode while in traffic with 3 errors: P11AB, P0488 and P1498. Knowing that recently I've changed a vacuum solenoid due to buzzing noise I start watching under the bonnet and surprise, the rod from the air dosser vacuum capsule was disconnected. The rod is not damaged at all but somehow slips and I saw that can be disconnected easily.
As temporary solution I used a small o'ring that is keeping the rod in place. There is any chance to find only that vacuum capsule (b part from screenshot) from the air dosser?

They are not available separately, it’s a complete unit.

I've done some searching for this capsule and I found one model that is very similar with the original, only the rod length is greater with 14 millimeters. With some dye skills the rod can be modified to original size but I will let the pictures to speak. The new capsule is wahler 710608. I didn't find any technical spec for these capsules but I'm thinking maybe there is one with the same rod length like original.

I can’t see them being that different to be honest apart from the length, which will be important of course.
