Constant Velocity Joint....

Unread post by Doo »

I need to replace the right hand CV boot. It's been a while since I did the Citroen, so I can't recall how the CV comes adrift.... #-o

Does the end just come apart from a spring clip or is it held together with a circlip & needs a circlip pliers?

Forearmed is always easier.

Thanks all 8-)
Has anyone seen the plot? :?

The BX and apparently my 2007 Dispatch (after having it up a lift today in my mates garage) is 'kiss it with a lump hammer'. Round circular clip inside.
Pete
Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone

Mate of mine was having real hassle trying to get one of those over the cone until I showed him the sneaky way.... Paint the cone with copper grease, then spray it with WD40. FOOM! :cd: The boot was on. He'd tried all manner of lubricant, including Pledge :-D But nothing worked. Try it 8-)

Anyhoo, yes I lamped it one time with the big hammer and it literally fell off 8-) The new boot was a quality item made for the Citroen shaft and it went on no bother.

Thanks chaps.
