There can be only one:-

The first time I saw her, after watching Hayley Westenra sing the same song.

I wondered when you would bring her up Steve - here is my analysis based on the criteria I have already mentioned. Tune - 100%, Control - 100%, Power - 80%, Tone 50%, as you already know Steve too high for me :-D However with those scores she would probably make my top 10!

I admit there are many contenders though. Ana Netrebko, Elina Garanca, Aida Garifulina, Sissel, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Georgia Dagaki, Tarja Turunen Patricia Janeckova and many more.

This woman was at the top of my list for long time, before being usurped by Jackie.

Sounds great, just wondering what she would sound like when not copying previous artists singing the same song. It may shock you all but I normally listen to this type of music......

Impossible to not mention her Mick.
I feel quite disloyal as I wasn't impressed with her last album, covers of Joni Mitchell songs, nor her most recent releases.
Has to be said that she has had a lot of problems, mainly with her health.

You could sit there and wait and bleed... There's 2 sides to every coin. I'm sure many of you enjoy classical and Metal music

She does have some original songs but IMO her classical work is her strong side.

Slipknot and the like are my youngest son's thing. Not for me I'm afraid although I did dabble with Napalm Death and Fields Of The Nephilim some time ago.

This appeals more these days. Almost exclusively female singers/musicians.

Joanne Shaw Taylor, Larkin Poe, Samantha Fish, Dea Matrona, Laura Pausini, Orianthi...

I can understand that Steve, a lot of similarities across the tracks.

I have to say Ryan I suspect your tastes may be in the minority of FCF members but that's no bad thing. I had to turn the volume down so I could distinguish the words but at least it is in my preferred tonal range! :-D However over energetic percussion tends to alienate me I'm afraid so definitely not for me!! :-D

I have said previously that I reckon for the most part that drummers are a complete waste of space, with only a very few exceptions. The ones in the "Lover's" clip being such an exception.

I just had a quick reprise of the Lovers to check them out. I think it is perhaps better to refer to them as percussionists or tympanists to differentiate from the drummers using a drum kit as per pop/rock music. Those chaps play a constructive part of the theme where as the rock drummer is primarily in charge of tempo!! :-D

This is more the kind of drumming I prefer.

Also Imelda May and her Bodhran. Not often featured though.
