Citroen C5 X7 Main headlight 15pin connector
Hello to all
I have a Citroen C5 X7 2013 that i just love
I was wondering if any of you guys have a diagram of the 15Pin black/red main connector of the front headlight or if any of you can tell me what every pin is powering or connecting in the headlight
Like what pin is powering the LED day running light
What pin is the high beam, What pin is the follow me light, what pin is the low beam?
Thank you for all in advance

You'll need to put up your VIN number here first as there were several light units fitted.

Here you go - 2610 is the Left Headlamp, 2615 is the Right Headlamp.
The same pin numbers on the diagram apply to the Right Hand Headlamp, so I have just included the key for the Left Headlamp.
Right Headlamp

Left Headlamp

2610 Key (left Headlamp)
2400: front left daytime light control
261: left-hand sidelamp supply
2701: Left-hand dipped headlight command
2705: left static turning lighting control
2801A: Left-hand main beam headlight command
276G: headlamp corrector position control
M260A: earth 260
M260B: earth 260
ME265E: Earth

Dear Marc
Just wanted to start with a huge thank you, you can't imagine how much you helped me and what a smile i have now from ear to ear! Thank you thank you thank you
Maybe you could help me with the follow questions from a dummy electrician
pins
1) M260A/BME265E they are earth does it mean that this can be used as negative -?
2) If not is there any negative pin in this connector?
3) Pin 2400 is this the pin that supplies the day light led light?
4) The led strip that is below the light does have 2 light intensities are the two intensities connected with 2 different pin or is it 1 pin that supplies the current for the lower intensity and for the stronger intensity?
Thank you in advance

Re: Citroen C5 X7 Main headlight 15pin connector
No problems.
This is a negatively earthed vehicle. So the earth acts as the negative.
Yes, pin 13 (2400) is the control for the DRLs. This is probably the control wire to switch the DRLs into low light mode when the headlamps are switched on - but see below my notes regarding the BSI and Pin 1:
Here is the detail for the DRL - as you can see the DRL (2404) has a 5 pin plug.
Pin 5 on the DRL to Pin 13 on each headlamp
Pin 3 on the DRL goes to the Passenger Compartment fusebox (BFH1), Fuse G37.
Pin 1 is the command / control wire from the BSI, which probably switches the DRL relay from low to full intensity.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 Main headlight 15pin connector
Assuming that is the correct diagram for this car then it looks to me like the dimming function of the DRL must be done in the headlamp assembly somehow.
Component 2404 is the DRL relay
The DRL power supply (Pin 13 on the headlamp assembly) is directly fed from fuse G37 (a permanent battery feed) via the DRL relay (2404) so I cant see how it can reduce the power to dim the lamp. There must be some sort of circuitry in the lamp assembly that dims it.
Wire 240 from the BSI is only a signal to trigger the relay.
That's my interpretation it anyway based on that diagram.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 Main headlight 15pin connector
Does the DRL actually have 2 levels of brightness? or is it either the DRL (bright) or the sidelight (not so bright) on at any one time? If that is the case then the single control relay and wire would be sufficient.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 Main headlight 15pin connector
1) Of course this is the correct diagram - that why we ask for the VIN
2) Yes, the LEDs have 2 levels. But on these headlamps with LEDs there is no separate sidelight.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 Main headlight 15pin connector
That clarifies the point that I was making. The dim (sidelight) LED is fed separately by circuit 261 onto pin 3 of the headlight connector, so there is no need for any logic in the headlights, there are just 2 sets of LEDs (which may be physically integrated together).GiveMeABreak wrote: 25 Sep 2020, 11:37 2) Yes, the LEDs have 2 levels. See the pictures of the Headlamp connector in the first post ^ the red and black connector is the 15 pin plug.

Re: Citroen C5 X7 Main headlight 15pin connector
I think dimming of the led happens if there´s power on the sidelight pin of the headlight connector. So there must be a circuitry inside headlight that does this (full light when power only on DRL connector, and half power when power on both DRL and sidelight connector). And this is why we cannot have DRL´s on and sidelights in the back (or rearlights) on at the same time on these cars.
