New car

I have just looked at a citroen xantia 1.9td, 1998 s reg LX for the second time and have put a deposit down. The car is just what I need It will cost me £2550. Especially pleased as I have been offered £1800 for my 106 XS that was written off at the beginning of the month. (I was offered £1000 trade in a couple of months ago)
I am very pleased as I now have a tow car for £750 (I had a budget of £2500 max+insurance), and now have enough money left to buy a new trailer as well, treat the GF to a weekend away and bank some of the cash for the holiday in september!
A very good day for me! Thanks to all who gave me advice it was very usefull and helped me come to my decision.

Well done Jools, I'm sure you'll find it ideal. Glad you got one because I was close to twisting your arm to look at a superb Mercedes 190E that is in my care to sell at the moment. Excellent stable towcar and a classic in the making!
Let us know how you get on with the Xantia after a week or two.

Will do. First up is to get a dog guard and roof bars, then a tow hitch which I will ask about later!
