If you've just had it re-gassed:

1) With engine running and bonnet up, get someone to switch the A/C on and off a few times - as they are doing this, you should check to see if the radiator cooling fan comes on each time the other person activates the A/C. At the same time check to see if you can see / hear the A/C compressor engage - it should make a click sound as it engages the clutch. If it is extremely low on gas, then the A/C ECU will prevent the compressor from engaging to prevent damage and the fan also may not engage.

2) I would of expected whoever re-gassed it to check it was operational and cooling before you left. If it was working and now it isn't, then I suspect you may have a refrigerant leak. One of the most common areas is the condenser. That's the small radiator that sits next to the main radiator. These are very vulnerable to stone chips.

3) If you suspect a leak, then you'll need to take it to an A/C place and have a dye put through it that will show up under ultraviolet light and can help show where the source of the leak is.

If it was regassed correctly, they should have vacuumed the system first. During this process, if there is a decent leak, it won't empty and they should have informed you of a problem. As Marc says, get some dye put in, as they inject it you may even hear where the leak is coming from, mine was the condenser.
