Hello all newbie on the block, needing a scan please

Post by 207Peugeot14 »

Hi all
I hope you are all ok and well at this difficult time.

I'm Simon from romford essex, I've had my 2011 Peugeot 207 1.4 Hdi 78,000 miles since last year, and all has been just fine.

My car is currently showing up on the dash "Risk of particle filter clogging see handbook"

I've no idea what the problem may be but do not wish to continue driving the car incase i do any damage to the car,

I'm after getting the car scanned/diagnostic but just want to see what the computer will show up, I'm not after getting a forced Regen done, just to see what the scan shows,
And take it from there.

Is anyone local to me that could scan my car please, I have, beer and £s if your able to help it would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks simon

Hi Simon and welcome.

I've deleted your other post as it was a duplicate whilst awaiting approval of this one.

That warning just means the filter is beginning to clog - usually symptomatic of short journeys, where the car hasn't been allowed to regenerate because of stopping the engine before a regeneration can start or complete. Before you go down the route of diagnostics, just take it for a reasonable drive away from stop start traffic, to allow the vehicle to warm up and then drive at 40mph minimum to allow a regeneration to take place - preferably for 15 minutes or so and keep it in 4th gear to allow it to heat up more quickly.

The message should clear.

Taken the car for a drive but still the light on the dash came up,
Seams to come up when going round a hard right bend or roundabout.
Decided to check the dpf/fap fluid level under the car,
Very low maybe 100ml to 200ml fluid left in the bag so decided to change it.
New one now fitted but I'm in need of someone to reset the counters apparently,

Any help much appreciated thanks

You would of had a separate warning when the fluid was low - it uses only a tiny amount, so would still of had a way to go yet.

But you'll definitely need somebody with Diagbox or a mechanic with a decent diagnostic too to reset the additive counter - otherwise the engine ECU will not know you have topped up the fluid.

I suspect you will still have the same issue - so when you do get it diagnosed, get all / any fault codes and pop them up here.

Here is our list om members who have offered Diagnostic services.

There is a link to a Google map at the bottom of the page that shows the members geographically. Just send any one suitable a private message from the link on the page.

Not all members are active all the time though.
