Hi all
I'm still moving forward with my C5 changing bits that sometimes don't need changing but I just like pottering about.
I visited my favorite car recycling centre a few weeks ago and got a few underside bits.
I think I may have made an error though
I saw a Peugeot 407 in the breakers yard and I couldn't believe my eyes! The car was a brand new 2009 car.
The car had a new smell to it and the cloth seats were in remarkable condition ie no damp or marks and the exhaust didn't have any soot in the tail pipe and had no rust or corrosion on it at all.
The anti roll bar was in excellent condition along with the brake back plates etc
This was a 407 saloon (not the station wagon) and as many of you know the 407 shares a lot of the C5s parts
So I purchased the anti roll bar and the exhaust in the hope it would fit my estate.
I was informed by a friend of mine that the rear silencer and middle section are different saloon to the estate.
Does anyone have a definitive answer?
I was hoping if the difference if any is in the length of the centre pipe then it wouldn't be difficult to cut the pipe after the join and buy an exhaust sleeve to join it further back.
Any ideas anyone?
Regards
Stevep

Re: Exhausts
Not only are they different for Saloon and Estate, but there are also different parts for these sections of the exhaust depending on the different engines fitted.... so be wary.
