Citroen Relay - where do you put engine oil?

Unread post by Joolzy »

Borrowing a friends Citroen Relay and she’s asked us to fill up the engine oil.

Attached is a photo of under the bonnet with two possible places for it.
The front cap comes off easy but the other cap is on top of the rocker box but that one won’t come off.

Anyone throw any light on this? Thanks

If you can post the vehicle's VIN number, we can identify the exact year of manufacture and engine, and look at the Owner's Handbook for the vehicle.

I'm struggling here.
Your vehicle is
RELAY II PANELLED VAN - SHORT STD SIDE STD ROOF TYPE 10 2.0 HDi 90 Manual gearbox 5
(DW10TD) RP 10452 = 21 June 2005

I've only been able to access Owner's Handbooks back to 2008, at which point the diesel engines were 2.2L and 3.0L.

Possible that someone else here can help.
Am guessing that the filler point with the oilcan logo on the cap is the one, but don't go on my guess please.

Either of them will be fine. I'd probably use the larger one with a picture of an oil can on it.

Either will work but the reason the front filler exists is because the "normal" filler on the rocker box is shrouded by the positioning of the engine so far back. Thus a secondary, easier to use filler was added at the front.

To further direct users to the front filler, the filler cap on the rocker cover is modified to make it difficult (impossible?) to remove.
