Official service tools.

Unread post by PowerLee »

Well after 20+ years of Peugeot ownership I for the first time had to buy a special service tool from Peugeot to complete a job on my 308 T9.
£6.94 for a special zip tool to refit the front seat backrest covers as there zipped secured at the bottom.

So this got me thinking, has anyone else here had to buy a special tool from a main dealer just to complete a job on there French vehicle?

I obviously don't know what size that is but I'll bet it's just a standard zip when all said and done. Did you try haberdashers and dress suppliers first?

More importantly, with a PSA part number how much was it?

I borrowed one of those zip repair kits but none of the various sizes in it worked so I went & ordered the proper tool for the job.

It was £6.94 & worked perfectly first time for both seat covers.
