Hi All,
I have a 2014 ds5.
The passenger wing mirror has recently stopped folding inwards/outwards when you lock/unlock the car.
Would I be able to remove the cap to check inside without completely removing the whole mirror from the car?
Any pics or a video would be very helpful.
Thanks.

Re: wing mirrir cap removal
There's nothing much you can do with the internals on these I'm afraid. But do check the wiring in between the doors to the bulkhead that go through the protective flexible plastic tubes (passenger and driver's side).
Can you hear the motor engaging on the passenger side or is it totally dead when operating the retracting / opening control?
The retract and unfolding is controlled by 2 relays in one of the passenger compartment fuse boxes. It won't be these though as the R1 deals with the retraction and R2 deals with the unfolding for both mirrors - so if these were faulty, the specific function wouldn't work on both mirrors.
So I suspect that it's the motor or supply to the mirror motor on the passenger side.

Re: wing mirror cap removal
Hi, Thanks for the reply,
I have managed to remove the mirror cap(it just pops off with the help of a plastic removal tool)
You were correct in saying that there is not much you can do inside as the motor and mechanism are encased.
I did notice that when lock/unlock pressed there is a slight noise(buzz) and a very slight movement, just a fraction.
I am beginning to think that its a faulty motor mechanism.

Re: wing mirror cap removal
Sometimes they can go out of synch if they have been manually moved.
You can try manually unfolding it and then trying to operate the folding and unfolding operation a few times to re-synch it.
