Hi folks, this is my first post. I have done some searching on this forum and googled, but still a little stuck.
I wanted to add the trip computer to my 2008 Expert, it looks easy enough to do and I reckoned that swapping the Comm2000 with one with the button on the stalk was the easiest way for me given that my radio stalk has buttons missing too, then enable it in diagnostic.
The plan was to buy a second hand unit from ebay, however I see that there are multiple part numbers for the Delphi unit. I think if I search for my part number it won't have the stalk feature required, is this correct?
How do I ensure I order the correct one that will work with my Expert?

It might help if you post your VIN here so we know exactly what you have first of all. Trip computer information is pretty standard stuff, so should already be there and the only thing the stalk has to do is change the display mode. The data comes from the engine ECU / BSI to the multifunction display screen.
Some of the earlier models had a basic trip counter on the instrument display with a separate reset button - anyway pop your VIN up so we know what you have.

As I suspected from your year and engine size this isn't a MK II, it's a MK III (G9).
According to your specifications, this one does not have an on-board computer, so replacing the stalk won't make any difference.

Although on some models this function can be activated via Diagbox, I think it may depend on the level of multifunction screen fitted to the vehicle. I know it can be activated on models with an EMF_C level screen as fitted to vehicles with the RD45 / MP3 Head Unit, but you have an RD4 and the Level 1 screen.
So some of the trip computer functions are only available with an EMF_C level screen.
