I am having intermittent problems with bluetooth on my RD45 on a '12 X7.
Roughly 80% of time it works normally, but sometimes when i start the car the unit does not connect to my phone. "Phone not connected" message is displayed all the time, even if i turn off the radio. When this fault occurs, I cannot access any submenu of bluetooth settings (connect/disconnect, consult paired equipment etc.). So it seems the problem is that the bluetooth function somehow hangs up.
The car needs to be turned off for a few minutes for bluetooth to start working again. Before swapping the RD45 to another one i'd like to know if someone has any other ideas to fix it?

Re: C5 X7 2012 RD45 bluetooth problems
Have you tried with a different model of phone?
Does rebooting the phone get the connection working again?
It is often difficult to tell whether there is a compatibility issue with a specific model, or even a software version.
BTW, I have not seen a problem like that with my RD45, the phone always connects within about 5-10 seconds.

Re: C5 X7 2012 RD45 bluetooth problems
I have not tried it with a different phone but disabling and re-enabling the phone's bluetooth doesn't help. The phone doesn't see the car when it is in that state.
I think the problem is clearly in the car, not the phone.
Should that "phone not connected" message even be visible all the time when there is no connection? When the system is hung up it is.

I wonder if a BSi reset could help here. OK, you would lose the station settings, clock time/date (and possibly other memory dependant things), but a BSi reset is normally very good for clearing glitches.

Re: C5 X7 2012 RD45 bluetooth problems
The recommendation in this case is to delete all the paired Bluetooth devices from both the RD45 and the Phone. Then first of all, try and pair the phone searching from the RD45. If the result is the same, delete the bluetooth devices from the RD45 and your mobile again. Next, attempt the pairing operation again, but this time search for the RD45 / Citroen device from the Mobile handset.teuski wrote: 23 Apr 2020, 09:43 I have not tried it with a different phone but disabling and re-enabling the phone's bluetooth doesn't help. Re: C5 X7 2012 RD45 bluetooth problems
I have had similar with the same unit in my 3008. I've even had the radio freeze when ending a call. It takes it overnight to return to normal. Never really investigated so not much help to you in this case but thought you'd be interested it's not unique to your car!

Re: C5 X7 2012 RD45 bluetooth problems
I deleted all bluetooth pairings and first paired the car and phone by searching from car. The problem din't go away.
Yesterday i did the pairing from phone and haven't had problems since. I hope that solved it.
Thanks GiveMeABreak!

No problem, if you have the issue again in future, try each of the 2 methods - I know it sounds stupid, but it tends to work for most.
