Xantia MK II - Cruise control not working

Post by lancia58 »

Hi

The cruise control is not working in my Xantia MK II. I checked the brake light switch on the brake pedal and it is OK. When the cruise control is activated I can hear a click of a relay but the cruise control will not engaged .
The cruise control vacuum unit ( bellow ) in the engine bay looks OK .

Any idea ?

Thanks

I would check the associated pipes. I seem to recall somebody having the same problem, and there was a pinhole leak in a vacuum pipe which stopped the CC from working.

Most commonly, the vacuum pipe splits just where it is pushed onto the vacuum pump.

Also check that the bellows diaphragm has not been punctured.
