Intermittent electrical fault mk1 Berlingo

Post by andyneile »

This is a strange one. The last 2 days I've started my car in the morning and my date and time had reset. Car starts brilliantly so no obvious battery issues. Today the date and time had not reset but after 15 mins of driving the screen went blank and after another minute the radio turned off. It came back on itself after approximately 5 mins but did the same again. Any ideas ?

Did it lose the date and time when it reset itself while you were driving?

Have you checked for an insecure battery terminal?
What year is the van? surely its not a mk1 with a 1.6 HDi engine? didn't think the 1.6 HDi came along till at least late Mk2.

It is a mk1 1.6 diesel and the battery connections are good. Vehicle is a 2009 58 plate.

If its a 2009 model then its either a very late mk2 or a mk3. The mk1 finished around 2002.
Has it had any work done recently?
Might also be worth trying a BSI reset.

It's not had anything done other than belt and pump about a month ago. I'll try a bsi reset.
