C1 tyre pressure light

Unread post by daviemck2006 »

On the c1 the tyre pressure light came on a couple of days after fitting the change of wheels. I checked the pressures and one was 4psi less then the other 3. I pumped it up so all tyres at the same pressure. However there is no reset button anywhere and it is still lit 3 days and 100 miles later. Is it just a case of waiting u til it resets? The leon has a reset button on it, and it doesnt co e o until it has lost approx 10 psi. As far as I know both are the systems which compare the turns of the wheel via the abs sensors.

I take it this is your new one - I don't have the VIN for that one, but this is how you reset it:

This has to be done after you change or inflate the tyres / wheels. First ensure all the tyres are at the correct pressures before proceeding.
  • Ensure vehicle is at a standstill
  • Switch ignition on
  • Open the Glovebox
  • There is a switch next to the Passenger Airbag deactivation Key Switch
  • Press the TPMS Reinitialisation button.
  • The Tyre deflation warning lamp will flash on the dash 3 times when it is complete.
  • Now wait a few minutes before switching the ignition off
  • The new pressures are memorised and the system is reinitialised.

Thanks for that Marc. Yes it's the 2016 one which has only done 12000 miles. I've misplaced the handbook pack, I did get it when I bought the car but it's not in the car or its appropriate place in the house. I will need to find it soon as it's going to get a service very shortly.

I've found the handbook pack, and got the tyre light out.
